19 October 2004: Dave von Kleist & Joyce Riley —
do we know who they really are?
Several people have brought to my attention some long-running controversies
involving the makers of 911: In Plane Site. To make things
brief, there are several well-known activists in the area of Gulf
War Illness and Gulf War Vets' issues who allege that Joyce Riley
and Dave von Kleist have been engaged for years in efforts to co-opt
and divert investigations into the sources of GWI and the government
coverup. These accusers include Peter Kawaja, who was an early whistleblower
on GWI and illegal US bio/chem programs, Jackie Patru, who runs
the site sweetliberty.org, and Linda Kennedy, a lawyer who once
worked for Riley and von Kleist as a personal assistant but later
split with them, and began releasing a series of exposés
earlier this year. I have not studied this issues enough to pick
sides with confidence, nor do I see eye to eye with some of the
other political views and associations of these three, but I think
their arguments are deserving of attention from those who are concerned
or skeptical about the way that Riley and von Kleist have handled
the making of In Plane Site and their subsequent rapidly
expanding influence within the "911 Truth Movement". Among
the most disturbing revelations here is Riley's involvement with
the Southern Poverty Law Center, a notorious front organization
with close links to the ADL and FBI. There is also a very troubling
link between Riley and Dr. Garth Nicholson, a key figure in secret
US biowarfare programs. Kennedy also alleges that Riley and von
Kleist have had direct contacts with FBI and Military Intelligence.
Her take on In Plane Site is that is part of a strategy
the pair have come up with of using 9/11 as a distraction and fig
leaf for their ongoing exposure.

Again, I'm just providing this FYI; I haven't come to any final
conclusions yet, but I will try to keep looking into these matters.
Since many 911 activists may not be familiar with the history of
the GWI issue and the people involved, I think these critical views
of von Kleist and Riley's past role need to be put on the table.
